The Hopeful Ko-Shin's story

Ko-Shin and his brother Lel are slaves in a future where everything has fallen apart. The government is now run by a tyrannical leader known as Governor Raven. Ko-Shin and Lel have lived with Master X for most of their lives. Lel, in order to provide and keep his brother healthy, seduces a Servant Slave by the name of Rowan, and uses his body to keep Rowan enticed. Rowan and Lel, as slaves, are not allowed to conduct this affair, and could be punished severely and sold if they are caught. With Rowan's influence, Lel and Ko-Shin obtain good living quarters in the Manor at which they are enslaved. Rowan and Lel continue to conduct their affair in secret. Ko-Shin is aware of their affair, but, in order to protect his brother, says nothing. Rowan and Lel get caught and are brought before Master X. Master X calls in both Ko-Shin and Lel and asks which one of them was conducting an affair with Rowan. Ko-Shin, at this time is 10, and claims that he was having the affair with Rowan. Lel protests immediately, and receives a blow to his head with a staff that ultimately gives him hypopuititarism. Ko-Shin is taken to a secluded room in the basement of the Manor and is sexually abused and tormented for 5 months by Master X. After Ko-Shin has received his punishment, Master X tells him and his brother to pack their things and proceeds to take them to the slave market. Lel and Ko-Shin are intended to be sold as a pair, until a crowd member calls out that he will pay 5 million for Ko-Shin alone. Ko-Shin is sold to that crowd member, leaving Lel to be sold to someone else. Ko-Shin is taken to the Yorokobi Palace, a prostitution house where slaves are trained to pleasure high-paying clientele. The man who bough Ko-Shin introduces himself as Ethan. Ko-Shin meets a younger man named Feiy-Eun, whom everyone calls Fei, who trains Ko-Shin to be able to pleasure clients. They bond quickly. Fei reveals that Ethan is a good master, and will let the slaves keep a majority of their earnings and even let them buy their freedom.He reveals that Ethan has a three-strike policy, in which the third strike is a return to the slave market. Ko-Shin finishes his training when he reaches the age of 12. He begins working just as Fei buys his freedom and leaves. Ko-Shin begins to swindle clients out of more money than he deserves for his services. Ethan discovers this, subtracts the amount out of his earnings and informs him that he's reached his first strike. Ko-Shin discovers a secret about another prostitute in the Palace named Mizuki. He learns that Mizuki is a defective Perso-com. Ko-Shin is encountered by Yato, another prostitute who is in love with Mizuki and is protecting him. Yato begs Ko-Shin not to tell Ethan about Mizuki. Ko-Shin agrees. He then asks Yato to give him more training in secret. Yato refuses. Ko-Shin offers Yato half of his wages as incentive. Yato agrees, reluctantly. On Ko-Shin's 13th birthday, he is requested by a man known as Mr. S. Ko-Shin reluctantly takes the job, but discovers once he is alone with Mr. S that Mr. S is not here to have sex with him. Ko-Shin and Mr. S become close friends and create a rhyme to remember each other by if they ever see each other again. Ko-Shin doesn't see Mr. S again. Meanwhile, a snitchy prostitute, a girl by the name of Sakura, rats out Yato and Ko-Shin's affair to Ethan. Ethan brings Ko-Shin into his office and asks him for the truth. Ko-Shin tells him everything. Ethan calls Yato into his office and asks him if what Ko-Shin said was true. Yato denies everything. Ethan takes Yato's word over Ko-Shin's. Ethan tells Ko-Shin that he's reached his second strike and tells Ko-Shin that because of his actions, he will be taken to a behavioral facility for three years and returned after those three years. Ko-Shin is told to pack his things and get ready to leave. Yato is waiting for Ko-Shin outside Ethan's office. He explains that he had to lie because he was already down to his last strike, but refuses to apologize to Ko-Shin. Ko-Shin, in a fit of rage, attacks and tries to strangle Yato. Ethan and the other men in his office hear the commotion and rush to stop them. they manage to get Ko-Shin off of Yato, but have a hard time restraining him. Ko-Shin's new owner sedates him. Ko-Shin wakes up in a dark room with only a bed. His new master comes in and introduces himself as Professor Cain. Professor Cain proceeds to abuse Ko-Shin sexually, mentally, and physically for two years until Ko-Shin is entirely submissive to him. Ko-Shin, now 15, is completely cut off from his emotions. During Ko-Shin's second to last month with Professor Cain, Professor Cain tells Ko-Shin that he deserves an award for being a good boy. Professor Cain leads Ko-Shin to a room and tells him that his reward is that he gets to pick out the demon with which his DNA will be combined with. Professor Cain tells him that in order to pick the most compatible demon, Ko-Shin should focus on at least four traits that he truly desires. Ko-Shin enters the room and comes up with the traits of Power, Strength, Freedom, and Beauty. A demon calls out to him in his mind and Ko-Shin selects that demon. Professor Cain reveals the that the demon Ko-Shin selected is an Incubus. Ko-Shin undergoes the operation and lives. as Ko-Shin goes through the rehabilitation, a lab assistant reveals that Ko-Shin is the ninth boy that have gone through and that if Ko-Shin is a success he will never be returned to the Yorokobi Palace. Ko-Shin seduces Professor Cain two days before he is to be returned to Yorokobi. Ko-Shin kills professor Cain. Ko-Shin flees the company and returns to Yorokobi Palace by himself. Upon his return, Everyone is shocked to see him. Ko-Shin proceeds to take the spot as the number one ranked prostitute in all of Yorokobi Palace through technique and number of clients he takes per day. Ko-Shin proceeds to continue this for three years. One day, Yorokobi is visited by Professor Cain's guards, questioning where Ko-Shin is. Ko-Shin attempts to escape, but is stopped by Yato. Yato asks Ko-Shin why he is running. Ko-Shin tells him everything that Professor Cain did to him and begs Yato to let him go. Yato lets Ko-Shin go and covers for him. Ko-Shin escapes into the forest next to Yorokobi Palace and manages to make it to a clearing before he hears the guards getting closer to him. Suddenly, a hover-craft lands a few yards away from him, blinding him temporarily with the lights. a person steps out of the hover-craft and walks towards him. when the person stands in front of Ko-Shin, Ko-Shin recognizes the person; it's his brother, Lel. Lel takes Ko-Shin to the hover-craft and they escape to the Rebel's base. Ko-Shin is put in the medical ward because of what was done to him. He is really happy to finally get away from the life he had before. Two men hear about Ko-Shin and decide to visit him one night. The two men rape Ko-Shin. Ko-Shin tells no one about the incident and one day, while drying a butter knife, he attempts to slit his throat. Ko-Shin is returned to the medical ward and awakens to Lel crying over him. Ko-Shin realizes that he has a reason to live; his brother. he tells Lel what happened to him. The leader of the Rebels, Marik, asks Ko-Shin who raped him. The two men are banished from the Rebels. Ko-Shin is moved into the Guns or Butter Dorm where he meets Elaine, Simon, Lucifer, Azami, and Hydroxite. Ko-Shin gets Lel in the same dorm as him. Ko-Shin begins taking an Assassination Class and passes with the four other people in his class. Ko-Shin starts flirting around with several men in the Rebels and soon begins to slip back into his old ways. One day, during a newcomer ceremony, Ko-Shin catches sight of a man named Hijikata and falls for him. Ko-Shin is 19. End of book.
